Site Visit Program

Physicians who are eligible for licensure to practice in Nova Scotia and who are interested in pursuing opportunities in Nova Scotia may participate in the Site Visit Program. This program supports the physician to visit the District Health Authorities outside of the metro area and to visit practice sites in communities as they consider opportunities to practice medicine in Nova Scotia.

The Nova Scotia Department of Health will reimburse a physician for a one time visit, as per Site Visit Guidelines, for the physician and a partner. To participate, physicians must be eligible for a license in Nova Scotia, complete and submit a Site Visit Application Form to a District Health Authority of interest that is located outside of the metro area.

Visits must be approved by both the District Health Authority and the Nova Scotia Department of Health prior to the visit. If you would like more information or to coordinate a visit please contact:
