Nova Scotia is pleased to offer psychiatry residents a bursary worth $15,000 a year for up to four years. Funds for tuition, travel expenses and a one-time contribution towards books may also be provided. Residents, in turn, must agree to work in Nova Scotia, primarily in under-serviced areas of the province, for up to 30 months.
The bursary, which is open to any second-year psychiatric resident, is paid through the district health authority or mental health program where the resident will be working. Interested residents are invited to discuss this program directly with their employer or potential employer.
