Nova Scotians rely on the knowledge, experience, and expertise of over 50,000 health-care providers often during some of the most important periods in their lives. That's why our entire team from nurses, to laboratory technologists, to surgeons and speech language pathologists - are so highly valued. It is also why health human resources planning is a priority.
It is critical that Nova Scotia have the right number, mix, and distribution of health-care providers. We are therefore dedicated to building a system that is responsive to the changing health needs of our province and its health-care professionals.
By finding innovative and sustainable ways to deliver care in safe and supportive environments; providing the workplaces, tools, and education providers need to excel; and creating the conditions they need to use their knowledge, skills, and judgment effectively; together we are building a health-care system that provides consistent and timely access to quality care.
