One of the top medical schools in the country, the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine attracts more than $100 million in research grants and awards each year.
In 2003 and 2004, The Scientist magazine ranked Dalhousie among the top five places in the world, outside the United States, for post-doctoral work and conducting scientific research.
Recently researchers at the school received a $1.5-million, five-year grant to study patient access to care and the quality of treatment for colorectal cancer from diagnosis through surgery, treatment, follow-up care, advanced disease, and palliative care.
