Continuing Care Assistant Bursaries

If you are considering a rewarding career as a Continuing Care Assistant (CCA), now is the right time to start the CCA training and certification program. Employers throughout Nova Scotia will be hiring up to 1,700 CCAs over the next two years, and you may be eligible for a bursary to cover 70% of your tuition costs, up to a maximum of $4,000.

With flexible options, you can choose to train full or part time, or through self-directed learning, prior learning assessment recognition, or a combination of these methods.

To be eligible, you must be:
o Accepted into an approved CCA certification program
o Be sponsored by a licensed nursing home, home for the aged or home support agency
o Sign an agreement to work for your sponsor for one year following graduation

Applications for bursaries are made through sponsoring agencies. If you are interested in becoming a CCA, contact the nursing homes, homes for the aged or home support agencies you would like to work for and express your interest.
